Tampa Bay Gigs ("we", "us") operates tbgigs.com, a service that connects people planning events with independent local businesses who can quote for the work. This policy explains what we collect and what we do with it.
What we collect
- What you type into the quote form: your name, email, phone number, preferred contact method, and the details of your event (type, date, location, venue, guest count, budget range, notes).
- Basic technical data: IP address, browser user agent, the page you submitted from, the referring site, and advertising parameters (such as utm tags or a Google click ID) if you arrived through an ad or a campaign link.
- Business details if you apply to join as a pro.
Why we collect it
To pass your request to service providers who can quote for it, to contact you about that request, to prevent spam and abuse of the form, and to understand which pages and campaigns are working.
Who we share it with
When you submit a quote request and tick the consent box, your request — including your name, contact details and event details — is shared with independent businesses in our network who cover your area and offer what you asked for. That is the entire purpose of the service. Those businesses then contact you directly and handle your details under their own policies.
Most requests go to a limited number of approved providers, who pay us for access rather than you paying anything.
Some requests are also shared on a direct link we send to local providers. On that page your name, phone number, email and the details of your event are visible to anyone who opens the link. We send those links to event professionals in your area, but we cannot control who they pass them on to, so please treat that as public.
You control when that stops. Use the link we texted or emailed you the moment you have booked someone, and the page goes dead immediately — no further providers can see your details. It also expires automatically once your event date passes. If you would rather your request was never shared this way, email us and we will remove it.
Your street address is never shared in any of this — only the general area, town level at most.
We do not sell your personal information to advertisers, data brokers or list resellers, and we do not publish your request anywhere public.
We also use ordinary service providers to run the site — our web host, email delivery, and website analytics. They process data on our behalf.
Calls, texts and emails
By submitting a request you are asking to be contacted about it. That means two separate things, and we want both stated plainly:
- Independent providers will contact you. We share your name, phone number and email with businesses in our network who cover your area and offer what you asked for. They may call, text or email you with quotes. Each of them handles your details under their own policy, and you can tell any of them to stop at any time.
- We may text or email you about your request. Specifically: a confirmation with your reference number, a link you can use to remove your details once you've booked someone, and a single reminder about that link a few days later. We do not send marketing texts.
Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any text from us to opt out, or email tampabaygigs@gmail.com and we'll remove you entirely.
Text messages (SMS)
We run two separate text programs. Both are opt-in, and neither one sends marketing.
- Customers. If you tick the consent box on a quote request, you get a confirmation text with your reference number and a link to remove your details, plus one reminder about that link a few days later. That is a maximum of two messages per request — we do not text you again after that.
- Providers. If you tick the alerts box when you apply, you get a text when a new job is posted in the counties you selected. Message frequency varies with lead volume and is typically a few messages per week. You can turn this off at any time in your account settings.

How we handle mobile numbers
We never sell, rent or share mobile numbers with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We do not supply them to data brokers, list resellers or advertisers, for any price.
Text messaging opt-in data and consent are never shared with anyone. The fact that you agreed to receive texts from us stays with us — it is not passed to the providers, not passed to any partner, and is not part of anything we disclose to a third party.
One thing we will not dress up, because it is the whole point of the service: if you submit a quote request and consent, your phone number is given to the small number of vetted providers who cover your area, so they can quote you. You asked us to do that, it is stated on the form before you submit, and it is the only reason your number ever leaves us. Those providers receive it to contact you about your request — they do not receive your consent record, and they are not permitted to add you to marketing lists. Provider mobile numbers are never shared with anyone at all.
Removing your request
Once you've booked someone, use the link we texted you — one click and a confirm button, no login. That takes your request out of circulation so no further providers receive your details. You can also email us and we'll do it for you.
Requests also come out of circulation automatically once your event date has passed, or once a limited number of providers have received them, whichever happens first.
Cookies and analytics
We use cookies and similar technology for basic site function and, where enabled, for analytics and advertising measurement (for example Google Analytics or Google Ads conversion tracking). You can block cookies in your browser; the quote form will still work.
How long we keep it
Quote requests are retained so we can answer questions about them and understand demand over time. Ask us to delete yours and we will, unless we're required to keep it.
Your choices
Email tampabaygigs@gmail.com to see what we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted. Include the reference number from your confirmation email if you have it. Florida and US residents may have additional rights depending on where they live; we'll honour them regardless.
Children
This service is for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we'll update the date at the top of this page.
